My wife and I just returned from a visit to Kaua'i (not our first visit). Upon returning home to Oregon, I remembered that Oregon and Washington offer a monetary reward for the successful capture of northern pikeminnow, which eat salmon fingerlings by the millions. You can actually get paid up to $8 per fish over 9 inches! Surely some kind of a similar project could be set up by the counties affected by the feral chickens. I cannot help but believe that these animals have had some substantial effect on various ecosystems on the islands. Feel free to contact me.
